Habitat builds a simple, decent and affordable home with a family who qualifies based on need, a willingness to partner with Habitat for Humanity and the ability to repay an affordable interest free mortgage. Families put in a minimum of 200 hours per adult of sweat equity. Homes are not started until partner families have been selected. As families pay their mortgage, the payments are put back into the local building program. |
