Council on Foundations - an association of
foundations and corporations, serves the public good
by promoting and enhancing effective and responsible
philanthropy. The
Council's Community Foundation Services department
is committed to providing community foundations with
assistance, resources and tools to make grantmaking
more effective. The Council also maintains an
outstanding "community
foundation locator" with contact information.
Donors Forum of Wisconsin - DFW has initiated a
program to help strengthen the impact of community
foundations especially in rural and underserved
counties in Wisconsin. It has also taken a lead role
as facilitator and implementer of statewide
standards and best practices for Community
Foundations.
The Foundation Center - Nonprofit Information
clearinghouse established in 1956. The Center's
mission is to foster public understanding of the
foundation field by collecting, organizing,
analyzing, and disseminating information on
foundations, corporate giving, and related subjects.
Foundations On-Line - Foundations and Grantmaker
Directory. Provided by the Northern California
Community Foundation. This directory lists
foundations and grantmakers by name. You can either
scroll through the directory, or click on a letter
to jump to a specific organization's information or
home page.
Verizon Foundation - Beginning immediately,
nonprofits can request an
eGrant from Verizon Foundation, in the amount of
$240, toward Internet access from the vendor of
their choice. All you need to do is select the
Internet Service Provider (ISP) and complete the
application. Although the program targets smaller
non-profits (those with annual budget under
$500,000) any organization with a 501(c)(3) (public
charity), served by Verizon Communications, may
apply. Verizon also offers scholarships for
nonprofit technology training through their
E-Training program.
