Alliance of Nonprofits for Insurance, Risk Retention
Group (ANI-RRG) - A tax-exempt nonprofit
insurance company whose mission is to be a stable
source of reasonably priced liability insurance for
501(c)(3) nonprofits. They do not currently
write insurance in Wisconsin, but includes good
information for organizations seeking to purchase
insurance.
Document Retention and Destruction Policy - The
Sarbanes-Oxley Act makes it a crime to alter, cover
up, falsify, or destroy any document with the intent
of impeding or obstructing any official proceeding.
This act also provides guidance as to how long
various documents need to be retained. The linked
Microsoft Word document is the current policy for
document retention and destruction followed by the
Wisconsin Economic Development Association.

Nonprofit Resources - A provider of nonprofit
insurance in Colorado but provides a number of
userfull resources and a listing of the types of
insurance nonprofit organizations may wish to
consider.
Nonprofit Risk Management Center - Offer a wide
range of risk management information, tools and
services. These services include
free risk management advise and an interactive
risk assessment software program. The assessment
software is free to use, but they do charge a modest
fee to print out the report with specific
recommendations.
Public Entity Risk Institute - Serves the risk
management needs of small nonprofits, local
governments, and small business.
Risk Management Section of the Free Management
Libarary - Dr. Carter McNamara has compiled a
very nice set of materials on the topic of risk
management. Most of the materials are short and easy
to read and would be suitable as orientation
materials for new board members.
WISBAR Nonprofit Business Assistance Program -
Small and emerging nonprofit organizations
throughout Wisconsin can receive up to two hours of
counseling from a business lawyer at no cost. This
service is provided by members of the Business Law
Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin. The State Bar
of Wisconsin also publishes the
Guide for Wisconsin Nonprofit Organizations, a
handbook for attorneys, board members,
administrators, and other professionals who manage
or advise nonprofit organizations.
